Then look no further as we have the solution for you. If you’re a non-EU citizen wishing to spend more than 90 days in Greece then it is most likely that you will need to obtain a National Visa, widely known as a Visa Type D. Furthermore, if relocating to Greece is your intention, you will need to also obtain a residence permit as a Financially Independent Person (FIP). In this article we will dive into what a Visa Type D entails, how you can obtain a residence permit along with the benefits and the requirements needed to be eligible .

1. Type D Visa & Financially Independent Person explained

According to the Hellenic Republic Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a long – term visa (National visa – D Type Visa) is an authorisation issued by the competent Greek authorities for the entry and stay of third – country nationals in Greek territory for a period exceeding 90 and up to 365 days. This type of Visa is valid for one year and once it has been obtained, it will allow the individual involved to submit an application for the issuance of a residence permit as Financially Independent Person (FIP), as an entry visa does not automatically confer further rights.

2. The benefits accompanied by a Type D Visa & FIP
